COOPER HEWITT DESIGN AWARD

I was the winner of the National Student Design Challenge sponsored by the Smithsonian’s Cooper Hewitt museum for designing an outdoor chair created for people struggling with back problems.
I presented my design to several esteemed designers including Todd Waterbury, Caroline Baumann, Walter Hood, and Steven Keating. I, then, collaborated with Target product engineers and designers to refine my design for manufacturing. I worked for several years with Target designers to manufacture the chair in a limited edition collection for the Cooper Hewitt
My chair is now a part of the permanent collection and is on display in the Arthur Ross terrace and garden in New York City.
Since my win, I have continued to maintain my relationship with the Cooper Hewitt, serving as a mentor to the finalists of the 2021 Student Design Challenge.
